Firewire – Dominator 2.0 (FCS II / Futures)

Design
The Dominator 1 has been a staple in my quiver, and the Firewire line, since its inception in 2008. The Dominator 2.0 is meant to be a clean update of the original with design features that allow it to work well in a wider range of conditions and enhance its performance.

Shape
The obvious outline change is the tail going to a squash. Also, the rails are slightly more refined and performance oriented. The concave is single under the front foot but splits into a subtle, double-barrel and V out the tail in the last 5”. The squash tail in this shape allows good rail-to-rail transition and also a bit more release in the turns.

Sizing
Advanced surfers will want to ride this board as much as 4 inches below their height. A more intermediate level surfer will want to stick to something around their height. Have an eye on your volume and add a extra Liter for the north sea.

Comes with 5-fin option, so enough room to test.
